Albie's Birthday Bash

With Albie's birthday being on the 4th of July she has always had a fun water party and BBQ for her birthday party. She had a friend water party on the 3rd and then the annual family party on the 4th. I can't believe she is 6 already. Time flies by, she'll be grown up before I know it.

We got a couple of pools out and put the slip and slide on the hill and the kids entertain themselves. It is the easiest party to plan, the kids just play.

It was a perfect day, the weather was nice and it was overcast so the sun wasn't baking us all day. It came out every now and then, but for the most part it was perfect. We had burgers and salads and was perfect. The only thing we missed this year was the firework show at the end. Happy birthday Albie, we love you!!!

Stadium of Fire

It was Albie's birthday and we had tickets to the Stadium of fire so we took her cousins Mailee and Necia with us. We had amazing seats, thanks Katie, we were in the North endzone on the third row from the field. They were great seats.

When they were bringing part of the flag on the field it came down the north endzone that we were sitting and the kids had a blast helping bring it onto the field. It was pretty amazing to watch!
The coolest part was watching the skydivers come in. They flew right over our heads and when they were landing it looked like they were going to land right on us. It was amazing!

I think the highlight of the evening was watching Miley Cyrus on stage. We weren't that close to the stage but we had binoculars to get a good look at her. The kids were standing on the bleachers cheering, my favorite was Mailee who would scream, "Miley Cyrus, I love you!!!!" She just kept saying that over and over again. It was so cute! She mostly sang her new songs which the kids had never heard before, but they didn't care they were up dancing to all of it. Then came the fireworks. They were great!! We left a little early so we could beat the rush and we could watch the fireworks from the walk to the car. Overall, it was a great time at Stadium of Fire.

Sister's Weekend Getaway

We went to St George for the weekend with my sisters and mom. It was so relaxing and fun we had no kids and no worries! We shopped, ate and most of all relaxed getting pedicures, massages, taking in movies, and laying by the pool, what else could a mom of three little kids want? It was so fun to spend it with my 4 sisters, sister-in-law and mom. The only sad part of the trip was my picture taking abilities, I took my camera, bu tthis was the only picture that I took. It captures how much fun we were having and who spear headed the whole trip. That's mom!! You will have to check out my sister's blog to find out the rest of the details, she is much better at the blogging thing. Thanks Tami for capturing all the memories in pictures.

Gallbladder gone bad

Just yesterday I had to get my gallbladder removed. I was a little nervous, yes, me the nurse, I did get nervous, I have never had surgery before, but let me tell you I didn't feel a think. I remember Jared, the anesthesia guy giving me some versed and then the next thing I knew I was in recovery trying to cough and I had to use the bathroom. Since I work wiht these anesthesia guys they said I would wake up with a tatoo and my toes painted bright blue, well, when I woke up I didn't have either. They took really good care of me, I was really impressed. I have an amazing family and friends that take such good care of me. I love all of you so much!! I'm still on pain killers so some of this might not make any sense, but at least I am updating my blog right?

Fun Run 4 Kids

The Torres girls and Albie, Garrett and myself all decided to fun in a fun run 4 kids fundraiser race. Albie and Mailee were talking about it for weeks and had to do their training. Albie would go outside and run around the house to get ready for the race. Leesa and myself ran in a 5K first thing in the morning. We were a little nervous because we only trained two different days and that was two weeks ago, but we were able to do it and ran in at 31 minutes. We thought that was pretty good. Following our race the kids races began. Auja ran first, she had to run 100 yards. She wanted Leesa to hold her the whole time, so she wasn't able to finish. Garrett was next, he ran 1/4 mile. He was great I ran with him, and he was passing people like crazy. When he got done he wanted to do it again. Albie and Mailee ran next and they had to run 1/2 mile, which was two laps. Albie said she only wanted to run one lap, but she did it and did great. Finally the older girls Tia and Necia ran. they were duppose to run 1 mile, but after they finished the judge man said they had miscalculated and they actually ran 1.47 miles. Tia was the first girl to cross and Necia took 3rd for her age. They all did great, the kids seemed to have a lot of fun and said they want to do it again next year, maybe we can talk Mark into doing it with us next year!!

Hogle Zoo

Albie had her 1st field trip on friday, her Kindergarten class went to Hogle Zoo. We were able to meet her there and then she was able to come home with us. The kids loved it. Garrett loved the penguins and the train ride, Albie loved the monkeys and elephants. Mark and Haylie loved it all. My favorie part was spending time with the whole family. You'll have to check out the zoo when you can't think of anything to do.
